Hazrat Shaykh Mansur Muhammad Hussein Shah Urf Chotu Mian Bawa Sahib (RA)

His Holiness Hazrat Shaykh Mansur Muhammad Hussein Shah Urf Chotu Mian Bawa Sahib Chisti Qadiri Nizami Fakhri Azhari was born on 08 Rabiul Awwal A.H. 1324 / 01 05 1906 in Urma, Gujarat, India. Shaykh Mansur, whose travels are recorded in Safar-Nama, was one of the leading personalities in the history of the Islamic mystical movement in the 20th Century. For about half a century he travelled and worked extensively around the world to save humankind from sin and suffering. He carried the Universal message of humanism, love and benevolence. Bestowing on all people he touched a far-reaching respect for moral and spiritual values.
Shaykh Mansur had been given the authority and permission to guide his followers to the Love of God and to the stations to which their Creator had destined them. He underwent arduous spiritual training at the hands of his Pir-o-Murshid, Hazrat Malik Muhammad Shah Olpari (RA) who endowed him with the sublime qualities of wisdom, light, intellect and compassion necessary for a true Master on the Path.
Shaykh Mansur admitted all sorts of people into his discipline – nobles and common folk, rich and poor, learned and illiterate. As a result of his teachings, these people refrained from many improper things and showed an inclination to religion and prayer.
Shaykh Mansur (RA) breathed his last on 18 Safar A.H. 1399 / 18 January 1979. He was laid to rest at his Khanqah in Hansot. To this day, many thousands of Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims alike visit his tomb in search of blessings and benediction. The Khanqah in Hansot is now under the auspicious guidance of his eldest son and chief successor Hazrat Kalimullah Bawa Sahib (RA).
